Born on May 20, 1912 at Oud-Castel, Holland.
Died in Makati City, Philippines on December 8, 1997 at the age of 85,
after 66 years of religious life and 57 years of priesthood.
Fr. Roozen wished he would die on either September 8, Birthday of the Blessed Virgin, or December 8, Immaculate Conception. His prayer was heard and was heavenly granted. He died at 1:20 p.m. of December 8. It was as if our Blessed Mother took him by her hand to bring him home. After learning from three years and five months at the “School of the Suffering Christ” at Makati Medical Center, death came like a Graduation Day. Yes, it is finished; time to go home. And by heavenly coincidence, he went home on the very day when Don Bosco began his work, December 8, 1841. Today, he is now enjoying his well-deserved rest. >>> more
